If you are more comfortable in English than
German, I would be more than happy to teach you or your child in English (my
native language).
My goal in teaching piano is to help my
students experience music themselves, not just “mechanically” read music.
Depending on a student’s interests, I cover the following in lessons:
- Playing written pieces in different
styles (classical, modern, jazz, etc.)
- Accompanying songs by chords (great for
pop and kids songs, folk music and worship songs)
- Basics of improvisation and composing
- Playing by ear (playing songs you know
without written music)
- Theory, including short written exercises
- Technique exercises (“work-outs” for your
fingers)
- Rhythm activities
- Duets with me and other students
- Preparation for our annual recitals (at
Christmas and before summer holidays)
